Light hole

In my headlights next to the dipped beam bulb there is a hole, looks big enough for an LED or something.

Any idea what it's for?

03 Plate - mk2 ph2 - non sport

I tried puttling an led in there but I don't think its open at the back. Just seems wierd to have a hole
