was revving my car earlier and every time it went past 5000 rpm a green light on the left of the instrument panel that looks like a gearstick and gaiter came on. looked in the handbook but it says not used? also then developed a missfire so not too good anyone know what it is?

Strictly, it's the light that says:

"Can't you hear that? You've passed peak power, will already be on the speed cam setting when you change up, and will be bouncing off the limiter very soon. Change up now you fool!!!"

But that takes a long time to say, so it puts a green gear stick light on instead.

if you've got the gear stick light mate it means you've got an alloy bonnet too, dont know if your aware of that ;)

Cool! does that make it any lighter than the 1035kg it says it weighs in the manual?

I've got a ph2, FF 2003 model. By the weight of mine , I presume they stopped the alloy bonnet thing after the ph1 and reserved it only for the Cup?

The light comes on about 300rpm before the red line its just a warning to chnage up before you hit the limiter nothing to do with peak power or optimum shift point.

Cup have the normal bonnets only some phase 1's have the alloy bonnets. The phase 2 was never made with an alloy bonnet.

wish they had one of these on a 1.2? whats the max rpm i should be taking it to?

Need to get it on a RR and work it out realy each gear will have a different point.

^ as edde says, cup had the bog standard heavy bonnet, certain ph1s from a certain factory had a alloy bonnet and gear stick light. Sure edde will correct me if this is wrong ;)

YEp your right. Cups are the heavy weight then again costs are less and at the end of the day the extra weight is minimal battery in the boots a huge chnage in respect.
