light on the dash :(

for the last month ive bin having some trouble

sometimes when i start the car(in cold or warm conditions) this light comes on (c pic below)

then the engine will just rev agressively for abit then just cut out
somtimes does it when im drivin aswell like when i stop for a roundabout the light will come on and the engine will just cut out... mostly does it when i start

any ideas to what the problem might be???

all help appreciated

car is a 2002 1.2 16v dynaminque

how many miles? mite be spark plugs if the idle is fluctuating on cold start up.

car done 38,000k

1.2 16v engine suffers from a lot of similar problems

a) Spark Plugs

b) Coil Pack - very common

c) TDC sensor

d) Coolant Sensor

e) Throttle Body- costly

f) Wiring loom on back of engine being cut away by metal work

g) Throttle pedal

h) Oxygen sensor - 2 under car pre/post cat

Those are the items to investigate

Sounds like you may have a fault code stored, get the code read by a local garage.

This will narrow down where your problem lies.

Unless its under warrenty dont bother !!! They will rip you off left right and centre


Cannock is about 25/30 mins away up the M6 from me. You can gladly pop over to mine and i can whack it on the computer for you.
