light upgrade

just fitted a set of mark2 pahse 2 172 lights to my phase 2 mark 1 1.4 clio.

they look the absolute nuts.

read a thread about having to rewire the lights, this was incorrect as when i reqired them the way it said the lights were all over the place!

they did infact not need rewiring as the link suggested.

my indicators on the back now flash white . but was followin a new clio today with the same lights , not a 172, and they have orange indicators.

so do 172s have clear indicators then??

nope you have them wired the wrong way around

172s have orange indicators, (orange bulbs.) altho alot of us have silver visions in the rears too so they look white.

well the way i wired them on that tread wen i was indicating both brake lights and the brake light on my spolier were flashing !!

i dont have any orang bulbs in the back of my car they are all white i checked this before putting the thing back together.

Well you need to have either orange bulbs or silvervisions in. Was the the link http://www.cliosport.nu/3_3_1.aspwww.cliosport.nu/3_3_1.asp ? If so this is what I used and it worked perfectlyas it gives an excellant wiring guide to change it all over.

yeh thats the guide i used.

changed all the wiring as it said and it was bolloxed to tell u the truth!!

so i changed it all back as before and it was fine!

the clear indicators look wicked i think!

did you use the existing light block?

or did the lights come with the bulbs and block

i used my existing bulbs and block !

pennys dropped!! lol



had to modify the light block slightly too!!
