Hey, Can anybody give me any advise as to what the problem maybe. It started yesterday when i noticed that the service light was on and also the picture of a man with seat belt with airbag in front of him. It came on, switched of the car and it was fine, now its on all the time. Had my mountain bike in the boot of the car so i don't know if thats caused a problem. Anybody know if these are related to one problem?

its common fault. try wiggling the wires under i think the passenger seat or it could be the drivers seat. cant remember but sure someone will tell you. Its the connections that are dodgy

got the same problem mate !!!!!!
Think there is prob a bity of dust on one of the sensers !!!! (prob) but renault want something silly just to plug it in then im sure they will say oh you need a new.........£300 or something silly !!!!

Yeah it sounds like something to do with the seat as it only started when i moved my seat forward to squeeze my bike in. I'll have a look in my lunch and see what happens.

I have this problem in my Ph1, so does the missus. It's the connector on under the passenger seat, it's pathetic, but press on it and squeeze it and it goes off. Chances are it's come away from where it's tied on from things getting caught under the seat....

I still don't understand why a design fault on the first model can go on to affect the entire lifespan of the range.

Why have Renault not bothered to fix this issue?

Perhaps it's all those ££ made by unnecessary clip tests...

Day, it boils down to the simple fact that Renault are shite and couldn't give a damn. They probably work on the logic that there are more serious floors for us end users to worry about instead.

damn car, my car is nice and that but i've had endless issues with it to be honest. only it had since march and already had to have new spark plugs as wrong ones fitted and also water was in the spark plug well things, this was within 1 week of having the car. had to replace discs as they were rusty and the back left one still is, one half of the pad connects with the disc but the outer half doesn't even though they are new pads and discs. And now this. Rant over, sorry. Love my car though but bit of a pain.

had a look under my passenger seat at lunch and push the connects in and that and those lights have gone out now. Cheers for the help guys.

just another note... it WILL come back when people are getting in and out of the back and the seat is adjusted, best tying the wires up with some small cable ties mate... or like me you'll get that used to doing it you can do it whilst driving lol

lol. Yeah i'll cable tie them tonight otherwise it will drive me insane! lol.

hehe, well i dont usually have anyone in the back of mine, so it doesn't do it much, just that I tend to throw stuff on the back seat instead of using the boot so everytime I move the seat it does it lol.

Easy fix, but annoying none the less!

What I thinks even worst is the fact that this issue is mentioned nearly every day an noone botheres searching.

Some cars don't seem to suffer from it so they didn't bother investing in a good fix after all dealerships don't get much ££ for fixing it so why should they bother spending loads making a new connector.
