Limiter kicking in too early even when warmed up??

  ph1 172 and BG 182
Right guys, iv owned my 182 for about 4 weeks now, and iv noticed that the rev limiter kicks in at 6750, now iv read that its because the car is too cold, but it cant be that because i will be driving it for about half an hour so its up to temp, but it still doesnt rev past 6750, what could the problem be??

It's still cold.

The oil won't be up to temperature yet, even after half an hour. Drive it hard and you'll see the rev limiter increase.

The rev limiter is done on water temp not oil temp, so id say most likely coolant temp sensor fault

if i remember rightly there were a lot of issues with coolant temp sensors on the 182

I thought it went by oil temp? The water temp gauge gets upto temp in no time.

On my drive to work (20 mins motorway) I still dont get past 6750, after about 15 mins urban driving I can hit the 7800 limit

If it still kicks in at 6750 after half an hour's driving, change the thermostat. You can get them for about £12 from GSF.
