Limp Mode Help

I have looked at a few threads about this, but none seem to be specific to what I'm asking.

I've got a Clio 172 02 model, it has been stood since september and tried to start it last night. It starts but won't go above 3000 rpm, the hazard lights also constantly flash even when you disconnect the button and the indicator will flash left but when you flick the stalk up for right blinker it will flash both left and right like the hazards.

Really confusing, I have read about the common throttle body problem with the limited rpm but cannot find anything about the hazard lights.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try disconnecting the black terminal on the battery and leaving for 20mins that resets the ecu, and might get you out of limp mode.

This resets the Electronic Throttle bodie mate not the ECU There is a Throttle Pontentiometer Switch which causes the limp mode an easy fix is to dissconect it and make the points colser together with a screw driver so its a closer fit... Then spray it with Electrical Cleaner I've had no problems since.

Managed to get the Clio on a diagnostic reader today and the fault shows up as the immobiliser ring. I'm a little bit confused as I expected there to be a fualt with the throttle body or the ecu.

So I think i am going to go down the route of buying a Race Technology dash2 and a cable throttle body setup to get rid of the oem ecu. What i'm unsure about is will this resolve the immobiliser fault?

I don't think that's your answer mate, get your car to a specialist and work out the actual problem before throwing money at it, and potentially not solving the original problem

I know the actual problem mate, just need to know how the immobiliser works. If it's run from the oem ecu or omex.
