I am insured with Directline. I have just phoned them up to declare modifications to my car BUT apparantley I am not allowed to do anything to the car. My Uprated brake system is fine but my SS exhaust, Induction kit, Remap ect is not.
I guess my plan for Throttle bodies is out the window.
I can cancel my policy with direct line and they will not charge me any cancelation fee because of the conditions of cancelation. Anyone got any good idea who I can go with for insurance on an FF172 who will accept my modifications?
I have 2 years of driving with 1 year NCB
It's because i'm under 25 they will not insure me BTW

Elephant, greenlight, adrian flux? Even norwich union let you have 3 mods

Do they class a personalised number plate and changing colour of calipers, badges ect as mods?

Only elephant/bell/admiral do iirc. They may decide to class them as "Exterior decorative changes" or something lol

I honestly don't think they'd really be too bothered to be honest. It's only the Admiral group that feel the need to bill you for them

What!! I always thought that a rollcage bought your insurance down as its safer... Although i guess from another point of view it may be seen that you want to race it.

I got charged extra £100 and excess went up £100 for a zorst with privilige .

I think you need to factor age into that quote as well Patrick It's not going to be the same if a 25 year old wants to fit a roll cage...

most insurers wont insure u with a roll cage, if they do then they charge a lot!

its basically because if you crash, your head will split like a raw egg if it hits the rollcage.

Well I will just have to go for the non performance modifications this year. Change my insurer next year then blast the performance mods in Gives me time to save for throttle bodies or turbo conversion rather than spending my current savings on it

They will not insuer me this year with almost two years driving and 1YNC maybe next year
