Little summer clean

  Monaco blue 172
So I had my exhaust made the other day and noticed some untidy bits underneath, mainly the rear beam which I want to drop out and do properly but for a quick fix I just have it a rub down in situ and a lick of paint.

Also cleaned the wheel arches which came up surprisingly well, and gave the new discs a little paint treatment too to stop them going orange lol

Few pics of the new exhaust. The flange on the cat was rotten so had a new one welded on. Excuse the rusty beam this was ore

This happened…doh. Anyone got any tips for getting the thred out?

You might get lucky with some left handed drill bits or broken bolt extractors, but you're probably going to end up choosing between drilling it out and a helicoil, or fitting another hub.
For the time/effort it might be best to just get a new hub?

That rear subframe looks crusty! Otherwise looking good. A decent tyre place will get that out for you in no time for a tenner

Thanks for your help mate. Managed to get it out from behind the disc with a pair of grips as there was about 10mm of bolt showing.

I know mate it made me feel sick when I picked up the car from the exhaust place. I haven’t really looked underneath much till then, I swore to just enjoy the car and not get to involved…. 🤣

Underneath the car needs a clean. Before I begin, Is the majority of the underside coated in rubbery stone chip like the rear arches are?
