Lock/unlocking with fob

What sort of range can you unlock or lock your car?
I need to be stood right next to it for it to lock/unlock is that normal? or is that a sign my battery needs replacing?

Same for me mate. 95% of the time I have to be right next to it. I get the odd decent range one. I've often wondered if my battery was on its way out. However although I think a slight improvement could be made, later RS's were fitted with a better locking device I believe. I could be wrong mind.

mine used to do it from about 30ft and i found this annoying.

It also depends on the angle of the fob as well.

Mines off an on, Its had new batteries an all sorts still cant crack why :/ Sometimes doesnt even work stood next to it, its like it freezes up or something have to keep repeatedly pushing the button VERY annoying in the end I just put it next to my head and unlock it that way.

Obviously just how it's set up then wont bother with a new battery and key to the head lol has to be a coincidence when that happens lol

The key to the head actually works mate,

I used to be able to unlock it from about 10 - 15 yards away

Get a new battery

Try the other key as well
