locking wheel nuts



  A well built VW


My car has been sat for 5 months with the locking nuts too tight so now ive come to take the wheels of the locking nut has sheared (MCGARD nuts)

Ordered a replacement but what can i do to free these up a bit so it doesnt happen again

last people to have cars wheels off surprise surprise - RENAULT not willing to help as it was along time ago and we cant be sure we had them off last was thier reply left b4 i shed someones blood

has the head sheard off so there is only a stud on?

If so then jsut take the wheel off, whack the stud with a lump hammer then use 2 nuts locked together or a mole grip to twist it out, or tighten it till it falls out the back of the hub.

If not, then erm.......easy outs are the only method and i hate them.
