Long brake pedal

  mk1 Octavia VRS
What are the likely causes?

Rear Calipers have just been refurbed and new rear discs and pads fitted. Brakes were bled through all four calipers by a garage. When I brake there is a lot of movement in the pedal before the brakes bite. Brakes are still powerful enough to get the ABS to kick in (it's a FF 172 not a cup). I've driven about 30 miles since fitting and have had the brakes hot to see if that made any difference.

If you get air in the abs unit it may need cycling. Otherwise find a wet patch of grass and do some hard braking usually that will send the bubbles towards the calipers

I accidentally put the handbrake on after fitting the new brakes but before I'd bled the brakes - garage said this was the cause of the long pedal and it's now sorted. :)
