Looking at a Trophy

That one in particular, however it seems worryingly cheap. The steering wheel is a bit of a mess I know, but is there any other reason why it might be so cheap? There's no mention of cam/aux belts being changed too.

Terrible condition! Looks like damage on rear bumber plus colour difference front spilter snapped in two and hanging off. My guess this has been young un appreciative driver. Look for a better example.

Probably dampers are gone and got a price from Renault to replace them anyone wanna hazard a guess what they qouted me last week?

Why not give them a call and ask as many Q's as you can, try and get a feel for the person and the history of the car.

Step away, cheap for a reason.

As per dampers. I had mine changed under extended warranty but the garage showed me the invoice, £1200 each.

They are very good dampers when un-pinned but I am under the impression they are no longer made.

So if and when the dampers go on a Trophy now, which ones are generally used to replace and how much is that roughly to be?

yes indeed. The trophy sach engineering dampers are of crazy build. Renault out source them direct at £1199.00 so they'll never be easy to replace. That's what you gotta be prepared for tho when your buying into a trophy.
To many people like them but don't know anything about them, no wonder they end up in the condition like that one!

Most people get them refurbed as it's alot cheaper! There's a big post about is over on cliotrophy.co.uk 'SACH DAMPERS REBUILD'

I've got a mate who lives there and hasnt seen a garage so it can't be a big place etc

Apparently Gould engineering in Newbury is even better for price so it might be worth having a look at them too.

I sent the garage an email with all the usual questions last week when it was advertised at around 4.5 k but never got a response. I asked condition, service history, previous owners, belts and paintwork etc but didn't reply.

Why dont people just make a phonecall to ask questions, dealers never email back, a phonecall takes 2 minutes and answers everything you'll need.

I just wouldn't reply to emails.

rear wing crap, mileage crap. Steering wheel falling apart, the mats- WTF are they??

The only way you are going to know what faults are there is if you go to see the car and take it a test drive and ask the questions face to face.

I called BG motorsport 2 weeks ago and the guy told me it was £170+vat a strut to refurbish them. Im getting Fred @ BTM to get them done when my car is there as it saves the hassle of taking it off the road twice as BG told me that they need to cure for 24H's before they go back on the car

Maybe it's just me but it looks ok to me. Yeah the steering wheel is messy but they all do it. Mileage isn't far off average.
