Looking To Buy My First Clio

Been looking around for a new car recently, and to cut a long story short have settled on a clio. I have a budget of around £6000 so am going for a Clio about 3 years old ideally.

Unfortunately, I'm 20 and insurance is still a problem, so can only really go up to a 1.6. On the other hand, however, I don't want to go below 1.4. I still want something that's fun to drive!

Just wondering if anybody has any experience with the newer clios and would be able to offer any advice on which models to go for and which to avoid.

Thanks

Don't spend 6k on a pov spec 1.4 clio ffs.

£4k on a 1*2 with some spare for the insurance.

Can get a Mk2 Ph3 clio for 3K or so and plenty of mulla on mods, or have a look and see if BioHzrd's old motor is still for sale, it was immense!

It's what I did and i'm 20, but I bought a cup and insurance for under £4k in total :)

for cheap motoring with a bit of poke mate, try a dci and get it mapped, stupidly good mpg, good on insurance and will have a bit of poke

Dont bother with a standard boring 1.6.. go all out and get an RS. You could buy a decent one and insurance and you would still have some change left from that 6 grand.

I just turned 21 a few months ago and sorted myself out with 182 this weekend. I couldn't get insured with most companies until I was 21. Even now insurance is around £1k with 4 years NCB.

Wait till you're 21 if you're not going to do what's already suggested. Don't spaff £6k on a 1.6.

  dCi 65 + C2 (<Sold)
You can get a mint dCi 100 top spec, an 05 with low mileage for that money. Low insurance, tax, great economy and decent performance!
