Golf GTI PP Mk7
Well doesn't look like my Williams will sell this side of xmas, so it could well end up being garaged until next year, at which point I'll decide weather or not its worth the £800 it'll cost to re-insure it for another year.
Started running it on BP Ultimate as opposed to Shell Optimax and it seems much smoother through the revs, and the idle is less lumpy, so I'll keep it on that for now. I was queuing up to pay and looked across the forecourt at my car sat there under the station lights, and had one of those 'holy cow i love my car' moments, and it looked beautiful, a real classic. I'm privaledged to own it.
Took her out for a 'proper drive' earlier, and it made me realise just what an incredible car it really is, the acelleration is mind blowing, and the handling so crisp. The light tail end constantly keeps you involved in everything thats going on, and the feedback from the front wheels is so precise.
Such a far cry from my 172 cup, which was just so forgiving compared to the willy, you cant just stamp on the controls like you do in a modern RS, you've got to think about how you're taking each corner long before you get there.
I still want a 197/197 cup, becuase I have to commute in the willy every day and its not that kind of car, if i could keep it as a toy I would, but im not loaded, lol.
Might wash it 2moro, something its not had in a LONG time, because ive been so preoccupied with a new car, and getting rid of this one.
Maybe we should all look at what we have, and stop looking on to 'the next thing' like so many do on this forum. 90% of us on here own cars with capability that far outstrips our own, and we'll never get anywhere near the full benefit of what these cars can do. But we can still enjoy every minute we get in them!
