Losing NCB's?

I had an accident a few months ago and its just been proven to not have been my fault... im claiming off of the other guys insurance. Does this mean im going to lose my no claims bonus'?
People have been telling me I will!! I don't understand how that could happen?
any help appreciated

if its not your fault you wont lose your no claims, a claim so to speak is where theinsuruers have to pay out but wont recover the money, but as its a no fault claim, they will be getting their money back from the other guys insurance so you keep your NCB.

That happened to me, I just kicked up a stink and they reinstated it as soon as liability was admitted by the other side, rather than when the claim was settled

As long as the claim is settled before your insurance renewal it would have no effect.

I wrote my first clio off 2 weeks after my insurance renewal :rasp: lol
