Loss of speedometer \ odometer

NOt sure if this is gearbox related but the speedo on my PH1 172 has become erratic. At times it reports speed perfectly but then sometimes it drops and then comes back and so on. I guess it is aproblem with the speed sensor as the odometer also stops recording. Where is the sensor ? Cheers

Proably the speedo transducer in the back of the diff/gearbox.

Not much to buy new iirc.

I have the same kinda problem ,but my speedometer stops working when I hit 40mph. So ,where is the sensor again?

Yea i had this on mine, sensor on top of the gearbox. Bloody annoying when the speedo kicks in and out!
