lost my keys!

yeah they said my key got to come from france aswell!! ive got one unlucky car or its me had it 8 months 3 gearboxs 1 clutch 1 new shock 1 new cat....1 crash (not my fault)
1 tw*t dented my door and smashed my window.....lost my keys.....does anythink go right!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've just got a job at work, client has lost not one, but two sets of keys for his car, will need recovering to the repairers, probably with the alarm screaming its knackers off! then they will need to find a way of getting into the car, full lock set and 2 sets of keys programming

all this on an aston martin db9, yeah baby!

there's your first mistake... buying a car with just 1 key.

Means someone out there somewhere, has a key to your car.

My cars only got 1 key with it so its possible one of the previous owners still has it but more likely it was lost!

I should really get another one sorted!

I can understand stuff wears out but 3 gearbox's what the hell are you doing to them mate?

Gutted about the keys though. I wouldn't ever buy any vehicle with only 1 key tbh.

what i would do is get a metal detector or like 20 quid and use it to find ur keys.. that what m fren did.. oh yea and he lost it in a big park.. but he found it after 4 hours.. lol

Not locked itself with the key in it has it ?

You shouldn't be able to do that - it only locks itself if you unlock it and don't open any doors for ~30secs. Once you open a door, it stays [should...] unlocked.

I've just done the same thing, and havn't got a spare either !

It's not so bad for me, cause i'm not allowed to drive till march anyway, but still a nightmare.
Renault just told me that the fob is "on the shelf" and that they can program it to suit the car's alarm/rcl/imb.
They said that the fob's £80 then another £80 to program it. It has to be a new fob, they can't reprogram keys that have been used on other cars.
They gave me a code (gave him the reg) to get the key blade made, £7 from the auto locksmiths. (surely they shouldn't do this over the phone, I could have been anyone ?)
I think i might try one of those "new" fobs off ebay, its only a £10, you never know it might work...having said that those friendly people at Renault 'll prob'ly charge me £80 to tell me that it doesn't work !!

Went to Toomey Renault and was told remote, coded key is 147.98, non-coded, but with imo chip is 106.55, key without remote is 31.06
