Lotus Cortina

The best 'old' car out there? Absolutely love them, seem to spend as much time going sideways as they do forward, a lottery win would probably see £20k of mine thrown at one of these (off-white and green, everytime), stunning.

Have to say i have quite a soft spot for these, they are lovely looking cars and they don't half sound nice too.

Love em, the rear reminds me of a really old skool beemer that my next door neighbour used to have (the lights especially)

  182 has now gone!
My dad used to have one of these when he was a lad!
He then sold it on... Dont think he realised then, that all these years later on he wishes he kept it!

The in-laws had a standard Cortina, I was looking at the old photos yesterday which reminded me how much I love them (the rear light clusters, superb!)

They can be picked up pretty cheap and still look pretty cool.

My gramp had an Audi Quattro Turbo, Audi rings down the side and everything and had silly low mileage, when he passed away I was learning to drive, my Nan wanted to give it to me but the insurance was out of the question (probably a good thing, at 17 it would have killed me), so she sold it and bought me a Clio. I didn't really appreciate what it was then as I wasn't into cars, oh how I wish we had garaged it or something!

Pretty much identical to this (same colour) but I'm sure the wheels were much nicer, thinner spokes...

Lovely....
I remember my dad showing me pics of it when I was young, and I never used to pay much attention to it.
Now I appreciate these things alot more, and look at the pics I really wish he still had this.

I don't think i've ever actually seen a mk2 Lotus Cortina in the flesh! I did however have an orange mk1 escort mexico parked outside work the other day, chap was taking his kids to the indoor play areas next door, car looked mint.

Lotus cortinas are great, I remember my dad telling me that the were available with aluminium door & things as an option.

I love them. That orange mk1 escort posted up is pure p**n, i love it !

I used to have a bog standard Mk1 Cortina which was white with a red stripe. Wish I'd kept it as it was a two door and the shells are wanted to create the Lotus. Oh well never mind!
