Loud Exhaust!!

Just took my valver hybrid to phatt beats car audio open day in barnsley and entered it in the exhaust sound off competition. Id just fitted my supersprint 4-2-1 manifold, and my ktec unsilenced decat and my ktec racing system, still with a silencer in the middle section!
Turned up late and last and went straight on and hit 132.8db which turned out to be the loudest exhaust there! ha well chuffed lol. Supersprint and decat gave a big gain on performance so im equally as happy. Just thought id say i got a loud exhaust anyway! haha lol.

them K-tec exhaust systems are rather loud. Got one on mine with the 4 inch slash cut pipe on the back.

With my new engine in, really sounds nice on idle, has something to do with the new cam fitted aswell, just like that little bit of lumpyness

On my 1.4 it had a very raspy noise about it, but now with my new engine, its not so.

Presume you won't be attaending any track days then, thats alot more then the sound limti for most UK tracks.

And why did you pay £50+ for a k-tecx de-cat when you could ahve had one off me for £35 delivered?

I'm guessing they stuck the meter up the exhaust to get a reading that high.. My car has supersprint mani, and straight through system and was below the 98db limit at Donnington.

no the mic was on the side of a car stuck to the window not up the exhaust!
Whats the noise limit of the track? I was told afterwards brt an hour ago tht the reading would be really 10db lower because of how it was calibrated. so really its 122.8db I wudnt mind changing the back box for something a bit beefier tho.
It was the first db drag event of 2006 aswell official event, got me a little trophy lol.
I didnt want to wait though lunner, wud av had one if u cud av done 1 straight away but i bought it with the manifold.

As for recordings ill get a few done i think, sounds rather raspy tho.
