Loud ticking after a journey

  Renaultsport Clio 182
Has anyone else noticed this? After a journey and I switch the ignition off, there is a loud constant tick tick ticking from the bottom of the car. This goes on for serveral minutes. I've thought nothing of it until now, so just wondering if anyone knows what this is - is it a 'feature' of 182s??

all cars make it dont they, just cooling down.. metal shrinking etc. nothing to worry about

I think its normal, its to do with the engine cooling down or something. My dads van does it and my uncles tt.

Definitely the exhaust! My old 172 used to do it after it had been driven fairly hard, the missus 182 does the same.

Strangely my Megane doesn't but I guess it depends on the car etc. :D

If it annoys you then get a after market cat back exhaust. Sorted it on both my 182/172.

mine ticked quite loud, then the center section was replaced and it stopped ticking.
now a while ago i had my brakes replaced which involved the car being jacked up and it started doing it again. i noticed if i put my foot on it and pulled it upwards it would stop so i guess its one of the joins.
