loud whining noise coming from the rear

when i get to around 30+ theres a loud whining noise coming from the rear.

wheel bearings gone?

how much is it to get them done? car is a mk2 phase 2

Yep wheel bearing mate. Jack the rear wheels up and give them a wobble both sides and if there is play in the wheel then you will know which one it is. Ive got the same problem on my ph1. £40 from a parts place or £15-£20 on ebay or northwest performance.
