love over power

  clio 16v

how many of you out there, love you clio to bits, but really crave something faster, and more powerful, but just cant bear to part with it, or justify spending huge sums of money on it to make it faster??

just wondering if im the only one feeling this way!!

  car? need a license 1st!

OH yes...

In fact ive been considering this quite a lot lately, with my clio off the road, with a dud engine. Ive been considering getting allsort of different motors, something quicker.

But just cant bear to think of parting with my little green beast, i love and adore so much.. Although saying that, if i did love it that much, itd still be running :/

I love driving the clio because idiots in BMWs and mercs think its slow and always get hunted (M Power + AMG excluded).:)

Think ill keep my valver for now as the market seems to have died for them...going too cheap!
true statement, when i sold mine 18 mth ago, i got £3850 for it, my mate just bought it of the guy who i sold it too and it has done 6000 miles since i sold it and is still in mint condition for £2100, they seem to go for pennies nowadays, but williams still holding money well

Made me ill getting rid of my old RT, best thing I did though. I absolutely loved it to bits, did so many miles in it.

It was unreliable and I thought at the time fairly quick.

Got my VTS, never looked back at all. Makes the RT look like a snail and its been very reliable.

Ill go through it all again when I have to part with the VTS.

At the end of the day, its easier moving on so long as youre moving to a better car.

By better I mean one that suits your current needs.

YES!!! I love the way my Rt handles, and looks but hate how slow it is. Was thinking about putting a gt turbo lump in it but i would never make the money back on it.

if i had a full n/c i was edging towards supra twin turbo. always wanted one, running costs scare me towrds small engined diesel tho heh

I feel the same about my car, but its not a Clio!
How quick is your FRP, just out of interest?

Ive only had my 182 a couple of months, and it has everything I want. I think Ill be happy with it for a while yet.

I must admit, I would love something REALLY fast though!

i have constantly craved more and more power ever since i started driving.

there is a point when u will have to much, then a strange thing happens, you dont want it anymore.

  Clio 197

A year ago, no-one used to bother me... I was quite happily minding my own business in my 182.

Now, it seems people keep having-a-go because of its publicity since launch.

So... do I crave summit else? No, but I would like the following:

1) A cloaking device (standard equipment on my bike).

2) A Turbo-kit for those days when people just wont feck-aaf.

I loved my old valver! But after getting my MR2 Turbo havent looked back

Better in so many ways. But the valver will allways have a special place.

I have very recently sold my S2 Elise (which I loved) and bought a 172, so really Ive downgraded in cars, but I just got a bit fed up of spending money on cars to be honest.

Im at a stage in life where I wanna be putting my money into things that make more money, not wasting it on going faster, etc.

Think Ill be keeping my Clio for a while and enjoying that feeling of having some spare cash!

when my clio worked and didnt have a dent in it i loved it, but it got hit and i lost interest, now i dont want it at all im bored and fed up with it.... want a 200sx, gonna keep it standard looking, and will tune it to safe useable levels, somthing i can get in and know it will work and go fast and be fun.

i wont touch the engine for the first year i dont think besides standard mods like exhaust etc, i want somthing i can be happy and pleased with and use it propperly, i know if i go and jump in a 400bhp car i will kill myself quicker than u can say clios are french

i am keeping my clio forever!

i have poured so much money into the little beast and i would lose out on alot if i sold it.

i have it as a day to day car now, despite it being stripped like a sl@g, then when i can afford a comfortable car, the clio will become my weekend/track/drag car.

i want a V6 :D
me too mate. I love my cup to bits... but ive always wanted a V6. At the time the clup was the best i could afford, but i reckon now i could possibly afford it. Just got to sell a few bits around the house (like the tv, dvd player, the dog etc etc).

Really really seriously thinking about a V6 in Moonlight Blue.

I love my Clio but I want a car with a turbo next. My boyfriend has an escort cossie so when I go from that to my car it feels so slow! Itll be a sad day when I part with it though!

i loved my clio, even tho it was 1.2 16v, i dont really know the real reason why i sold it lol, i think it was becoz of its lack of power.

it was difficult to part with it all the memories in it:oops: but a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do, lol

I love my car. Anybody who has a valver/willy/172/182 has enough power and speed to upset faster cars. :)

I crave 4 a better looking car! Id luv a scooby, porsce, ferari, CTR and settle for it with a 1 litre engine!

This xmas lets ask for the ladybird big book of supercars so we can spell the ones we want on the list to santa next year.

Personally there are planty of faster cars id like but cant stretch to. Roll on the lottery win :D

i love my clio, but even though Ive only had it 6months, i want something faster! - goes to see if he can get his decat to work.... gets to door and realises cant be arsed

I really miss the massive turbo lag then the insane torque steer of my old Escort RS Turbo, but the handling of the valver is in a different league altogether. I think that my ideal car is something that handles like a valver but has the power of a turbo car!

Now I just have to find a small fortune so I can afford to turbo mine...

I guess half the fun of the valvers and willys is that you can access virtually all of the power virtually all of the time, so you always feel like you can give it death and have the maximum enjoyment from ringing its neck. That was the one thing about the RST - you could only really play when the roads were quiet as youd end up getting into trouble otherwise!
