low cost power on a mk2 1.2?

  Mustang, S13, AX GT
Hiya, I'm relatively new here. I used to have a 1.4 16v astra and recently bought a 51 plate 1.2 16v clio. I expected a drop in power but didn't expect acceleration to be so much less. I was wondering if anyone has any serious cost effective ways to improve the acceleration?? I was thinking induction kit and an exhaust might help but honestly not certain, has anyone got any suggestions?

you won't get much extra power out it mate, maybe get some decent springs and shocks make it feel more agile but power wise you could probobly buy a different car with twice the power compared to what you will spend even gettin 30-40bhp out of it.
got to say though i've drove a 1.4 16v new shape tigra and it didn't feel much quicker than my car,if anything just felt less torque try giving it a good service oil, filter, air filter spark plugs etc should make it feel a bit better and probobly get you more power than an induction kit will!

hmmm, I'm thinking a service is definately on the cards when I get paid it just rolled past 62k, i'm also thinking maybe a green air panel filter and looking at a cold air feed. Its only a slight difference until it comes to either people in the car or hills :(
