Lower mount, need help with replacing it.

Afternoon, I am currently in the process of trying to change one of the lower mounts that is on the gearbox ( is not the dog bone one, I'll attach a picture)

I have the new one and have the bolts off the old one, I have the car up on axel stands and the engine jacked up at the sump.

There is that much thread on this mount either side that I can't get it out! Jacking the engine only goes so far and I'm still half an inch away from even nearly getting it out on the top thread.

Anyone any ideas on what to do with this? I could cut the old one up but it doesn't solve getting the new one in + it is a lot more solid than the warn old one.

Found someone else posting on here who asked the same thing, so now I have.

Taken the battery out, supported the gearbox. Loosened the two bolts on the top gearbox mount. Taken out the two bolts fastening the gearbox to the body one had the earth strap attached. Jacked the gearbox up slightly = still the same, still can't get it out.

I pretty much loosened all the other mounts all the way and then got the biggest lever bar and could whilst angry same in reverse but more cursing..

I gave up in the end, will either attempt it some other time or get a garage to do it. After loosening the top engine mount and top gearbox mount. Taking the two bolts from the side of the gearbox, taking the two bolts from the mount it was still hard in there. I managed to just get the top thread out with a long screwdriver and some force but it ended up popping back in. Good job really as the new mount is hard to move compared to the one thats in there so i don't know how i would have got on getting that back in.

ah well :(

on the mark one i undo the 2 subframe bolts and brace bar to the inner arch, drops the subframe down enough to lever it out (with the engine jacked up as you describe as well)
