Got an m reg 16v with a full magnex and 17s i want to lower it and have seen a kit thats lowers it 60mm all round on the BB site for 300 fully fitted. Will i have any problems with the exhaust or wheels rubbing?? If so what do u recomend???
Not sure if 17s make the car stand higher than on 15s but doubt it as the tyre profile should compensate.
I fitted FK Automotive coilovers that lowered the rear by only about 15mm and more at the front. Still scrape the back box on speed humps sometimes.
Personally dont think lowering any more is a great idea as it would not be worth it if you have anywhere to drive like I do that has humps everywhere. I also believe that by changing the height at the back by too much affects the torsion bar in a bad way, being told that the torsion bar has a set spring rate and lowering the car affects this.
Lowering will make it corner better and handle better but teh more it is lowered the more you have to worry about where you drive. Also I guess there is less suspension travel hence a harder ride.
