Lowering a Mk1?

Ok guys, i have a Mk1 Ph2 that needs lowering, its a 1.2 if thats any help, ive read a bit about torsion bars on the rear being lowered?? and only needing springs for the front?

Confused here, can someone shed a little light on this for me? Im used to my Mk2 Golf which is on Bilsteins at the mo and she handles superbly, as the clio is a lighter/smaller car im hoping itll corner better...

Cheers All!

  Punto/Clio GTT
back is a torsion bar, basically you pop it out, push up the wheel, pop the bar back in.

pain in the arse bit is getting the bar out/back in as it can be difficult.

front is springs.

As above.

My 'mate' used to have a golf gti, and his handled better than my valver in places, but it think that was purely due to its weight, i couldnt carry as much speed through some corners as my arse end ould have just stepped out.
