I am looking to lower my mk2 1.2 16v 53 plate clio. I was just wondering 60mm lowering sorings from a mk1 clio would fit on my mk2 clio. Any thought or suggestions??
Just gonna jump in here as I have basically the same question, as coilovers are expensive and imo not worth that cost for a 1.2 I'm thinking springs, but would I need to get new dampers too? So that they cope with the shorter springs?

depends on the mileage tbh. i had mine lowered on apex 40mm springs and original dampers with no problems atall for over 2 yrs, they hadn't covered many miles tho so wernt worn. i'd just fit the springs and hope for the best, if the shocks leak they leak
I think on the 1.2s because of the suspension being softer using springs with older dampers would do your head in. If your doing the job yourself, it might not hurt to buy the springs first and then if your not happy get some dampers.
