lowering now or later?

  F56 MINI Cooper S
Hi guys, I am wanting to lower my 1.2 clio expression about 40mm as i think it sits to high at the mo. Now the thing is, i dont start learning to drive until another 4 weeks(when im 17). Do you think i should lower it now without even driven it, or wait until i have passed my test and then lower it? Not sure whether it will affect my driving... thoughts please

will feel firmer, nothing that should cause you any problems tbh.

id say wait mate, i think ud be more likely to rag the car round corners coz its lowered and not being rude but more likely too cause accidents as ud be inexperienced, id personally give it a month or two or even three months to just get used too the car properly first with ur full driving license and then do it. upto you tho
and good luck with the lessons :)

I wouldn't worry about the car feeling different to drive...

It still has 3 pedals, an engine and a steering wheel...

They're not hard to get used to haha.

i'd personally say he's more likely to rag it round corners if he lowers it once he is used to standard suspension because he'll know how much better it is ;)

i'd check your insurance first..see if its ok

btw..hope you pass...i know someone that sat a test 9 times...and had a car lying on the drive for a year...

id say lower it ive only just got round to doing mine and i passed in november, wish i had done it sooner its probally one of the best mods you can do imo looks well good, although if you are the first one to get a car out off all of your friends you better expect a full car a lot of the time. i got 5 in my car lowered 60mm already i didnt fell any scraping lol but i was expecting it to rub really bad

  Works...kind of...
Then get quotes for you with the lowering declared.

the apex & eibach springs are very hard and if you use the original suspension it want work properly and it will damage it -to be honest whenever you use the original suspension with lower springs NEVER works!I ve seen a lot in this forum people manages to lower their car without changing the suspensions..that's terribly wrong...the original suspension have a specificated bound and rebound which it is estmated to work with the proper springs...when you lower your car using a spring with specifications that they are not suitable for the suspensions you have on that bound and rebound can not be achived...so the suspensions can not give you the right absorve!the spring ends neither to the bound nor to rebound and the suspensions still isn't working!as a result when you try to turn the car for example with 140 km-sorry here in Greece we have Km not miles- and the suspension can not work properly you are 100% on your own...!now if you have your car for rides with 70 km and for showing it only prefer the H&R springs..they are very comfortable on driving and have very good specifications and they will transform yor car to seen view...sorry for the large post!

likewise ducky! Id say get it down and yesterday. If its only springs your going for eibach apparantly give the non RS's a big drop so probably is close to 50mm. If you arent too bothered just go for something that your budget determines!

ok so those £150 eibach say UP TO 50MM IN SOME CASES, does this mean it could vary from 20mm drop to 50mm? Or will it be arund 50?
