Lowering springs -35mm -40mm 1.2 16v

  RB 182 Cup
Need a little help, going to buy some springs in a couple weeks and need to know which 1's make the most difference to handleing/stiffness (if theres such word lol) At the minute its either Eiback sportline springs, Apex springs or gmax springs as they are the only 1s people have told me about. If anybody could give me any more reviews on the above or any1s they have had experiance with that would be brilliant :)

Heres the springs i have found so far

Hmm I am not sure.

Seems a bit weird they can say it will lower the car by that much when DCI's weight more than 1.2s and 1.6s more than 1.2s etc...

Teh common consensus is that Eibach are the best.

If you want a drop go sportline.

Sam

I totally agree about Eibachs. I have the complete pro kit on mine (springs and dampers) and initially it dropped by 30mm but after settling she dropped roughly another 5mm.

I was told that the sportlines can make the ride a tad hard, that's why I went for the pro kit. I had it done over a year ago and I'm still smiling.

Apex kit the best "looking" drop but the ride is quite firm. Mine with the full kit on is rather harsh to say the least, depends if its going to bother you. Nice handling upgrade from stock is the tradeoff.

35mm and 60mm are the only spring u can get, otherwise coilovers are the job. iv lowered mine 35mm and its closed the gap in the arch, but not low enough for me tho :( u feel everybump in da road its a pain but u get used to it .

yeah, was only going to spend £100 just on springs then coilovers when ive got more spare money.

Gumby what suspension do you have and what is it like after fitted?

The group buy if it still exists.

Have a read of that though and they quote the cheapest places to buy.

Apex -40mm. Looks pretty low, not silly low, just a nice looking drop.

Some people on here slate them for being too harsh, I think they're fine to be honest. They're not everyone's cup of tea, but then again I don't any one product can suit everyone's taste really.

You want harsh you should try some Spax 60mm.

I swallowed three fillings on the way to work yesterday.

im liking that, very smart and sits just perfect :), what you say harsh is that like how stiff they are compared to standard springs? Thats what im after too as the standards are a tad on the soft side

Yeah they're harder than standard springs that's for sure! I don't think they give a too harsh ride though. I quite like it :D
