Lowering

Hi there, im new to modifying and would like some advice, i currently have 15" Alloys on my car, and i want to lower it, i was wondering if anyone could offer me advice on how much to lower is by, i also need a cheap kit so if anyone has any advice id be greatful thanks

By the way i drive an r reg Clio

cheers mate, you got any idea of any good cheap kits? ive found some for about 40 is that a good price, and how much will it cost to fit them?

you can get spax lowering springs for around the £40 mark, they will lower front and then the otrsion bar on rear will need to be adjusted, but u dont have to buy anything for that.

Im going for 35mm all round in the next month or so, i would have thought you would be lookign at about 2 hours? (someone confirm this) Usually u poay around £40 an hour for a mechanic (again someone confirm this)

so when i buy a spring kit, it only comes with the front springs? and the back is manually lowered. im hopefully getting the springs next week. gotta get sunroof sorted first

Yeah, the mk1 clio only has front springs, prob wiht this is that the front end is lowetr and stiffer (oh er), the back end is lower, but not stiffer. This means if u have fat m8s (as i do :( ), then you might have a prob wiht the exhaust hitting speed bumps etc.

my 97 rt is lowered 40mm on the front and bout 55mm on the bak wiv 15" alloys! drives like a dream - doesnt rub even wiv a car load ova speed bumps! exhaust scrapes occassionally if its an extreme speed bump and ive got a car load!

if it were me buyin a kit id go for the PSG kit - it is 640 quid though! http://www.clio-modz.co.uk/exterior.htmhttp://www.clio-modz.co.uk/exterior.htm

im a fan of the joker body kits as well - http://www.k-tecracing.comwww.k-tecracing.com

hope it helps matey!

Its not sommet that you need to pay through the teeth for a renault dealer to do, most garages should be able to do it
