lowering

ive got a w reg 1.4 16v clio, and i want to make it look more sporty, but without loosing out on performance by puttin large wheels on it.

ive got a back box on it, im not too bothered about going crazy with the mods as i think it looks good the way it is.

ive got the standard 14s on it , and im thinking of just having it lowered about 35mm on new springs.

this way keeping the performance but looking sportier.

will a 35mm drop on standards look any good??

thanks tom

40mm is a good compromise (Im having 40mm APEX fitted next week) - it should then sit about the same height as a standard 172.

P.S: I upgraded from 14" to 15" on a Ren 19 - the overall circumference (and performance) didnt change - basically same diameter cos there was less thickness of rubber.

The 40/50/60/70 is a percentage of the width, so 185/50 have a thickness of tyre 92.5mm. Just add twice this calculated amount to your rims in mm (inches x25.4) and you have the total diameter - within about 3% of the original is fine and you wont notice any difference!!

P.S: If you want a nice set of NEW 15", check For Sale Other - any offers?

Anyone tried the Ktec springs that lowers 30mm? Am contemplating between Eibach and the Ktec ones. Apart from the price, is there any other real diff between the 2?

I do not intend to upgrade ma wheels, like them anyways, a 30mm drop on 15" stk wheels should sit in fine huh?
