M.O.T problems with pedals

passed my mot yesterday but he commented on the pedals as being aftermarket ones with no rubber grips which would fail the mot but they are as std i explained ????

ppl need to be aware of this problem as if you fit aftermarket pedals on you car , you may encounter problems at m.o.t time .

My mate had that problem, he failed his MOT because of chrome pedals, but I didn't :S

Testers can be numpty's sometimes..........

Its not an issue, they can check with VOSA.

My accelerator pedal is very worn, I think that could be an issue as the raised bobbles are now virtually smooth.
Might get Renault to take a look on Friday.

not for standard cars but the aftermarket pedals fitted may be a possible issue

you only have to have rubber bobbles on the brake and clutch not the accelerator

The bobbles are supposed to be smooth on the accelerator.

The raised bits on the clutch and brake pedals do feck all anyway! Wet feet and its slidey slidey if your not careful.

thing is (if they were aftermarket pedals), as petty a thing that may seem if they let you off and vosa pull you up outside the station and take you back in for them to re test the car (happens more than you would imagine esp. in high risk garages) vosa will pull the testers pants down over any little thing they find which dependant on the garage may loose the tester his job and dependant on how many points the garage already as loose the stations liscence to test - because of pedals.
