I've had the car for 15 months and 9k miles now, currently got a big battle with BMW & the Ombudsman regarding a rejection due to it having quite a few problems that don't seem to be fixable. It's had 7 trips and over 4 months back with the dealer in the first year of ownership, not ideal really.
Due to all that I had really fallen out of love with it but after going to Germany it;'s opened my eyes to just how good it is! Hopefully will find out what's happening over the next few weeks so it may not be around much longer.
Decided to go over with a mate from work and had an unreal time, weather was incredible, plenty of people around but not too busy and some serious metal knocking around! Pictures not great and I've bought a few but also just got some watermarked ones too.
I was going full attack into Karrusel, 60mph entry, foot to the floor in third gear with loads of bouncing and squeeling and full lock left made it great fun! We were timing the quick cars on the concrete at about 6.5 seconds, I was doing it in 5! I was coming off with the tyres at 65 degrees!
Did 8 laps in total and quickest time was 9.06 which I'm pretty happy with for my first proper time with a bit of traffic and a car on track. I was amazed how quickly you start to get to grips with what corners are coming up, I think I can be mid 8's next time as aiming to do 15+ laps and some better front tyres. Going back in May and it can't come soon enough!
I used a full tank of fuel in 5 laps. £60 in 65 miles works out as 7mpg!
I let my mate have a lap thinking he'd go steady but he raped the car and managed to come off track! Understeer and a slide up a kerb at about 50mph, all 4 wheels on the grass and a few metres from the Armco but managed to straighten up and keep going. Poo was flying everywhere.
Gave it a clean today as it had about 3k miles of grime and s**t on it, plus the wheels were disgusting with brake dust, could barely see the calipers were blue! Cleans up nicely but noticed a lot of chips in the windscreen so need to get that sorted. I still hate the wheels but it's a pretty car in my eyes. If it ends up staying there will probably be a few changes next year.
And the main reason for the clean was to get this on
