Need some help. Ive ripped my CD collection to MP3 but i have a handful of minidiscs with some obscure tunes and none of it i have on CD. Any suggestions on how to get them across onto my mac (its connected to my seperates already) and rip to mp3? any help is appreciated :)

**this thread is for mac owners to help me not an excuse for sad t***s who have issues with macs to flame so if you've not got anything helpful to add STFU**

Lol - if you had a minidisc player you could get a cable that would connect to an input audio socket on the soundcard (the cable you would need is like a phono cable but with 2 pointy ends) Then you would just need some software to record the sound coming into the mac e.g through the microphone socket. Hope this is some sort of help :)

lol, cheers Maxx the connection shouldnt be an issue as my mac is connected to my seperates using fibre optic cables i just need to know the process/software to get it across and rip it to MP3 :)

Just been doing this with some obscure vinyl for the old chap.

What out puts does you mini disc player have? Whatever that has you will ned lead from that into the 3mm mini audio in jack in on the Mac. I have been using a RCA into 3mm mini jack straight of the back of the record deck.

Download Audacity or Audio recorder 3.O of the web for free or I will fire them over by email, both Freeware.

minidisc has RCA and optic outputs on it Rich. Any preference between those two bits of software?

Go for optic to 3mm mini jack lead then.

I Would go for the Audacity.

That link Maxx posted is where I got them both from in the first place, Audacity is the Top link.
