I need a HDD to work with both Mac and PC. Its going to be the holder of my iTunes Library - so read and write on the Mac and Read on PC.

What format does the drive need to be in for this?

Do it for windows.

OS X can deal with windows formatting with no issues.

Windows will not even see your OS X formatted HDD and will want to format it.

Hmm. Its in NTFS atm, won't allow for write, only read.

I just tried to format it to FAT32, but I don't have the option in My Computer...

Any ideas why?

On my HDD I have formatted half of it for mac and half of it for windows (FAT32). Did it in disk utility on my mac.
