MacBook 13'' Crack BEWARE!!!!

Right today i noticed very faint hairline cracks along the front endge of the lower casing, right next to the indent. Now i immedietly thought drop damage, but the thing has never gone far of my desk, so i phoned PC World, having only had the thing a month....low and behold, only covered under the EXTENDED(Rip off) Warrenty.....which i never took ..... so back heeled i was onto apple Customer care, which i was then told the case would be replaced free of charge by the local apple agent, in newcastle.....so boys and girls, check your cases, and make sure you get it sorted asap......any one in the north east should contact AT Computures for any apply needs as there topper !!!

They will tell you if its coverable by the manufactures warrenty, and if any charges will be incurred, anything warrenty related will be covered, any normal repairs look to be sound price too.

IIRC this is a known issue.

There have been so many for sale with the SAME damage!


Looks like apple are know acknowledging this problem.

mine has the same it cracked and bits chipped/fell off i called apple but they said to go back to pc world... pc world said it was nuffin to do with them... might give apple a dingaling tomorrow!!!

happend to me and a work mate few weeks ago, ordered a new case from the apple store, 2 hours later shiny new top case

NEVER use PC World. I had a phillips laptop that broke 5 times in a year, screen went 3 times. It took me 6 trips and about 10 hours on the phone to get a replacement. Jke

Not happened to me. Had mine 2 years now.

However mine suffered from the soggy mouse button. Fixed it last night with a piece of folded up paper

My brothers had two new cases on his 13" macbook.

Does sound like a common problem.

The number i called is the nomall apple care number, but there is a catch, you may have to pay a charge to speak to them, my lappys still within the '24 hour apple care' thing. but the girl at the apple center told me just to ring them first.... so if i was you i would find out who deals with apple repairs, and contact them first. PC World are not apple specialists, they will only send it to the same people.
