I'm upgrading the RAM in my MacBook but I can't get one of the screws out of the back of the laptop. All 7 others came out fine. Now I think I've ruined the screw. What can I do?
Yep. I just can't get one of the screws off. All the other 7 screws came out easily enough. But having tried and tried the pattern on the screw head has been lost. I think the best way to get it out would be to somehow cut a new deeper slot in the screw and use a slothead screwdriver to get it out. But its impossible to use a hacksaw to cut the screw whilst it is still stuck. And then there is no guarantee it will come out even with a new slot. Apple will no doubt put this down to me, but it's there fault for tightening the screw too much.
use a swiss army knife of or anything that resembles an allan key.... i suggest you don't try this type of thing again, saying that i suggest you leave the thing alone, if you can't be trusted to remove a screw, you should not be anywhere near RAM.....noob lol
