Magic XENON lights - Reliability score

Bonjour, cher RSistes,

I am interested in reliability of the XENONs on Renaultsport 172 Mk II and 182. What is their endurance in real use?

Have a nice weekend.

The lifetime of the car my friend. (i would have thought anyway)

They have a warranty of 5 years.

And they are very nice too.

Thanks you have a good one too.

Tomclio182,

Thank you for your best wishes.

Now, talking about the xenons warranty. 5 yrs, you said. But the car has only 2 (in UK 3) yrs of warranty.

Would they replace it free of charge then?
Namely, in some EU countries light bulbs are considered plainly as "durable goods" and the warranty makes no difference at all.

I have a 51 plate 172 mk2 and at christmas one of my xenons packed in so took it to dealer and because my cars an import and has no dealers warranty left they still fixed them free of charge as said above they carry a 5 years gurantee. If i had to pay it would of cost £230.00 for a new starter pack and labour. So if a xenon starter unit goes on yours dont let them fob u of with a bill.

had the odd starter pack go down at work before but its nothing compared to how many 172s were sold. not sure about this 5 year warranty though. they will only be under renault warranty for the normal 3 year period.
