Magnex Fitted

Hi Guys N Gels,

Got my Magnex Cat-Back fitted at the weekend, sounds lovely and has increased the cars performance nicely however it seems to be rattling off the Heat shield when on hills idling, and when i start the car up. Anyone had these problems and if so what do i need to do? Does the Heat Shield need removing or should i have it bent right out the way as far as poss?

Mine did the same with the center section of the heat shield. I just got under and bent it up onto the underside of the car. Ive not had any problems since.

I guess you could mess about with it a bit, but its very very tight at places on the clios exhaust, they didnt leave much space at all, if you got a few mates in the back that can make things worse.

Yeah, was told that having people in this would cause problems, catches off the back axle. Very close all the way through arent they?!!

So Lee, will i be able to bend the Plate up without removing the exhaust? or will i have to remove the exaust first?

Will i be ok bending this up to the chasis? theres nothing behind it i will damage by forcing it up there?

Only me, at the very most me and my girlriend in the car. shes nice and slim so that wont make much difference!

The heatshield is like slightly thicker tin foil. Its very soft and can be bent easily. Mine has been fine.

Can i just ask, how is it you get time to sit and chat / work on the Forum? what is it you do again? almost as little as me! But im glad i get to talk on here all day.

Im an I.T. spod, so the forum is usually minimised at the bottom of the screen!!

Mine always used to vibate in 5th when I lifted. I did ask Demon Tweeks to look at it when they re fitted the exhaust itself, but a few weeks before I got sick of it and sorted it myself but making sure the two overlapping pieces of heatshield met better as opposed to rattling against each other.

I will have to do this tonight cause its annoying, sounds really sh*te!

Its hard when you dont have ramps though and have to get under there with a Jack!!!



Its funny, i do IT as well.. great when its quiet here but stressful when it kicks off...

I borrowed some from my next door neighbour.

Ill be removing the Magnex from mine soon and re fitting the OE exhaust. Im not sure if Im brave enough to try myself or just take it to someone who knows what hes doing.

Same here, all quiet today. Just a few stupid client problems which Ive dealt with.

Yeah.

Im not getting much for mine as its an import so is worth less. Plus Ive done over 20k in a year!!
