Main beam light not working.

My OS main beam bulb went out the other day, I thought nothing of it and got a replacement that day, once i had changed the bulb it still didn't work, I haven't had time yet to swap bulbs from left to right just to make sure i didn't buy a iffy bulb.
If it's not that I'll have to have a look saturday, are there any common problems that anyones aware of that could cause this?

They are seperatley fused so the relevant fuse could have blown.
