Maintainance (And water cap)

Hello guys. Some questions, 1 very sad!

First up. How many miles do you recommend you fill up on oil, is it safe to go by the meter on the dash?
Should I top up with quality oil over a shi**y oil or just do a complete change?
Also, do any of you know where I fill up on water!?
I checked the manual and its not in the place it says it is or im daft!
Is the water tank strictly for the washers or is it also used for anything else?
Thanks guys!!

washer bottle filler is in the n/s side scuttle panel trim.engine coolant bottle is bolted to the bulkhead on the n/s.the dash indicators arent that accurate so i check my oil with the dipstick every week.just top it up with some quality oil until the service is due.

Thanks for your reply, but where do you mean n/s?
Sorry but I cant find it!
And would I need to do anything with the engine coolant?
Maybe I should get a Haynes!!!

the windscreen washer bottle will be if u lift the bonnet, there is a pannel where the windscreen wipers are fitted to, there is a little hatch and there is a white bottle in there which is for the washer fluid,

the engine coolant bootle is in the engine bay under the bonnet, normally on the passengerside, at the back, a round white bottle with some thick black hoses coming off of it, only need to fill it or touch it if it is below the min mark on it.
