making a decat

my cats fooked and im going to have to order a new 1 2 get it threw the mot, would it be worth making a decat out of the old 1? or would there be no point?

can do, iv done it before. i put a load of petrol inside for the night to screw the cells inside, then smashed the rest out

oryt so how exactly is it done? and what difference will it make?

hammer and chisel/crowbar.

It will make more noise, but puts the power down on a 1.2

if its a o.e cat the insides are hard as fook! plenty of bashing with various metal objects will break it up. if its a aftermarket cat made of ceramic then piece of piss there really fragile

its the standard cat, would it maybe easier to just cut the cat out and weld a piece of pipe in? or would there be no point?

If you weld a piece of pipe in you'll then need to cut it back out again and weld another cat back in again come MOT time which is a pain in the ass.
