what software, i seem to be not able to burn my bideo file via nero to a dvd?

what can i use?

What sort of video file is it? There are various applications that can do it, but in order of increasing complexity you could try googling:

DVDSanta
Video ReDo DVD Suite
tmpgenc

what file format is this video file in. You cant just burn anything and expect it to be a dvd. You can however burn anything to a DVD disc, it just wont be a DVD video.

That's why I was asking what type of file, and suggesting those types of program... maybe I should have made it clearer.

Nero is perfectly good for burning to a DVD-R SamboRT, and would in fact be my personal choice. But like Shindig says you can't just burn a video file and end up with a DVD-Video.

The programs I mentioned previously will turn a multitude of video formats (providing you have the required codec installed which I guess you do as I'm guessing you've played the video on the PC) into DVD-Video files which you can then burn with Nero, for playing on your DVD player.

If you can tell us what type of file it is then we'll perhaps be able to tell you if it's possible, and what program is probably best to use
