Can you code a key using Clip?

I need my spare doing since I had issues with the car started the spare no longer opens/locks the car on the button fob, it will start the car ok ASLONG as I've not locked it using the other key via the fob button! Very odd!!

Anyone know? got as far as this

If it's a key that did previously work, shouldn't it just need re-syncing to the car? I'd imagine there is a relatively simple button pressing procedure for it, rather than needing CLIP.

Not on a Clio it would seem sadly.

Believe you and me I've tried all the known sequences to try to re sync the key to the car, all I did manage to do was to make both keys not start the car!

I'm hopefully getting it sorted by the garage that did the main key.

Unsure on Clip, I used Renolink to code a key to mine.

The only caveat being you have to do every key you want to use as it removes the old ones when you do it.

Update!

Pleased to say Renolink did the job superbly, well chuft very easy once you figured it out! Both keys now working as they should (y)

Quick question whilst I'm on about Renolink, is it possible to read and clear codes with it?? I had a look to see and I pressed scan but nothing really happened like I expected!

Any ideas quickly whilst im on?

I only used mine to code keys and didn’t bother with anything else as I have the iCarsoft scanner for fault codes.

Yeah you can, slightly long winded.

However, if you go to scan it brings up a another window. If you hit scan on that it will take forever as it tries to look for every type of ECU in it's library.

What you want to do is select the relevant one from the drop-down list, say ECM or UCH, ABS. Then scan that and it will bring up the ECU name at the top, click on that and it now show it top left in the ECU (mines blank because I'm not connected to car)

Then once you're on the particular ECU, you can go to one of these. I think it's either the first red triangle or the last...

You'll see it's found a couple of your ECUs there.

If you click on one (might need to double click), it should then populate it into the ECU box top left like I mentioned.

You can then go ahead and read/clear faults.

You needed to have an ECU selected, that's why it's come up with the error asking for xml.
