Making my own clay lube

I could buy BiltHammer clay that only needs water, but im quite happy with my polyclay so instead of using loads of expensive and possibly unecessary dedicated lube, how would i go about making my own?

Bit of auto glym shampoo in a spray bottle mixed with some water. thats what i use with megs clay and find it better that quick detailer. lol:)

Bottled water and some shampoo, only a tad shampoo tho.

i was told only a little shampoo once before also, obviously not as much as if i was washing but wouldnt more shampoo be better (more lubricity) than less?

cheers for the replys

You can get it to lubricated btw. Baby oil doesnt work as lube i tried that:eek:

Just tip a sensible amount in. only needs a little bit. when you spray it on it should look greasy.:)

Just go see David and get some anti static synthetic detailer LOL!!

Was at him yesterday and got a gallon of pro detailer!

Too good for lube though...

RichCup: yeah the CYC polyclay. Incidently is it a different texture compared to say sonus green or BH? harder?

Nice title. It got me excited.

Shampoo works perfectly for me! 90/10

Why i made sure the word clay was included!! ;)

Incidently ive got another question:

Picked up a 3.5" spot pad yesterday thinking it was a polishing one but instead ive been given a lake country light cut pad.

this a bit harsh to use?!

i used that one and had no real problems. Removed some of the more obviuos swirls

cool thanks paul, think il start it off with less abrasive polish then just to be sure.
