Many Many Problems! Help Needed!

Been having problems with my car over the last few weeks. Think both front wheel bearings need changing ( as it whurls like mad) but now I think either the clutch or gearbox or driveshaft is buggered up on my 182 :(

Clicks when clutch is down and trying to put into gear, put in reverse earlier and couldnt get it out again :( had to stall the car to get it out of gear.

Dunno how much it will all cost though. Any ideas anyone?

May have to get rid of the car if it costs too much :( which I dont wanna do as I love the car

Any help would be grateful thanks,

Matt

The clicking when the clutch is down is normally to do with the clutch release bearing.... In your case it sounds like a very very worn release bearing which is causing problems engaging gears (had the same problem on one of my old clios) complete new clutch kit should eradicate that problem. Best part of £450 fitted

Check your rear bearings they seem to fail more regularly than fronts but don't hold me to that!:)

Circa £100 for new rear discs with bearings and abs rings only buy genuine though

Changed the rear bearings a couple of months ago with genuine renault parts when I replaced the rear brakes.

Does the gearbox oil ever run to a low level? A mate thought it might be that, im not too sure though

Could it be the gearbox playing up? or any driveshaft issue?

Thanks mate

The majority of gearboxes on 172/182's leak from the gear linkage but it would take a very long time to run dry,no harm in checking the levels though..

Ideally you could do with getting it checked out ,i put my money on it needing a new clutch

Also were the rear discs torqued up correctly?? 175nm if not it can lead to premature failure of the bearing.

But again get it checked out..

Yer, I'm taking it to a garage on the weekend to get it all looked at. Will let you know what the answer is though :D

Not too sure about the torque, whats the torque on the front? the same?
