ok mate i have a 2004 53 172 cup. what sort of gains would i be getting on this.The inlet manifold is a poor match to the inlet ports on the cylinder head.
If you get the inlet matched then the air flow into the engine should be improved hence more power etc.
RS stamped manifolds (late (2003) Ph2 172s onwards) are a better match than non stamped ones but still benefit from matching.
some have noticed no difference, even with a non-RS lower. no way you can be sure you will or won't and is one of those mods that you have to spend on before you find out seemingly.
