Mates rates?

My brother is doing some work on my car next week (well a service more or less). Cam belt, oil, filter, rear discs, rear shocks, front and back pads. He probably wont take any money but i'd like to offer him something for giving up his weekend and saving me a few quid. What would do you reckon i should pay him?

i pay my mate £20 an hr if he ever does anything to my car, his a pug specialist and does every thing in the pug garage. imo just give him a hand n a crate of beers

Always good to have family or a mate who is a mechanic isn't it! My close mate has done some right favours for me, I bought a Saxo VTR a few months back to run alongside the R26 as a weekend/track car and since I bought it he's dropped a 16v VTS engine in, throttle bodies, cams, exhaust, service, brakes, suspension, fitted the bucket seats etc, can't thank him enough!

Although he says he doesn't want any money, I've given him a few hundred for his time and bought him two track days for his Elise too. A bargain still for all the effort and work.
