Max Legal Tint

Hi, been searching around but can't seem to find out what the factory glass tint on a Clio Mk2 03 3dr is? Was thinking 80% really light tint all around? Would that be legal?

Other option in my head, but I'm not sure if it would look right, would be a fade tint from like 60% in the rear to 80% in the front. No sudden change but a fade in the rear window. Just an idea but it's probably a load of cack to be honest lol.

Quite straight forward AFAIK: front windows can't be tinted, rear windows can be black. You'll probably get away with 80% on the front though, I'd be inclined to go slightly darker on the back though.

You been searching? Really?

First hit on Google

75% Windscreen
70% front side windows

Most cars come with a factory tint near this limit so I doubt you can tint the fronts.
Yeah, I asked what the factory tint was, maybe I wasn't clear. I wasn't asking what the law was but whether what I was thinking of doing was legal. Cheers anyways.

Sounds good, thanks :) Do you know if it's an MOT fail? :p

I've tinted the windscreen to dark smoke and got limo all round. It looks bad bludd.

No tints on the front windows and you get do as dark as limo on the rears.

have a look on the stamp on the glass, front screen should have 'AS1' and front windows should have 'AS2'. if they do you're pretty much at the legal tint maximum
